A LOG OF MY LEARNING CURVE
WHO AM I?
I'm Henry Fraser, a tech lawyer and researcher studying AI governance at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society (QUT Node). My research is focused on how to use the law to promote accountable, trustworthy and beneficial development of AI and automated-decision making in the short, medium and long term.
HOW THIS WORKS
This blog is a record of my journey of learning and thinking about the field of AI governance. It is a blog in the true sense: a diary of sorts; a web based log of my musings and reflections and reactions to stuff that I read and learn.
I'm not going to conduct careful literature reviews and try to cover the field before I write, though if I'm aware that I'm borrowing someone else's thinking I'll do my best to give proper attribution. As a matter of method, though, I'm just going to note down my thoughts as they come up. Then, if I find out my thoughts aren't original, or have been better expressed elsewhere, I'll note that down at the point I find out.
My hope is as much to come up with an agenda for deeper research and thinking, as it is to come up with settled ideas, analyses, suggestions or exhortations.
I hope you enjoy coming along for the ride!
